Representative Luna to lead task force to declassify state secrets, including UAPs and USOs
On 11 February 2025, Anna Paulina Luna announced at a press conference that she was leading a group tasked with declassifying information about JFK, RFK, MLK and UFOs.
Luna, an Air Force veteran and representative of Florida's 13th congressional district, has been one of the most vocal American politicians on the subject of UAPs for many months.
She began the presentation of this task force to the press by explaining that it is based on the fundamental values of American democracy, which are at odds with the government's practice of increasing levels of classification and systematising secrecy.
This bipartisan task force on “The Declassification of Federal Secrets”, is based on President Trump's executive order calling for the declassification of documents, which led the FBI to discover 2,400 documents never before included in the file on the assassination of President Kennedy.
In this context, Representative Luna calls for independent investigators to contact the task force to complement the teams of lawyers already at work.
One of the most striking moments of Representative Luna's press conference was the announcement of new hearings as early as March and the sending of a dozen letters to various agencies today.
This will no longer be a task force that makes bold promises only to fade into irrelevance or send strongly worded letters. This will be a relentless pursuit of truth and transparency, and we will not stop until the American people have the answers they deserve. We will cut through the bureaucracy, challenge the stonewalling, and ensure that the American people finally get the truth that they have been denied for too long.
The question and answer session that followed the press conference revealed the importance of the UAP issue. Asked about the fact that the government could prohibit her from declassifying certain information, Luna pointed out that the task force is under the authority of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and that there is a general dynamic of transparency in the new Trump administration.
In response to a question about bipartisanship, Rep. Luna also pointed out that the work done in Congress in recent months on the topic of UAPs has been the “largest bipartisan campaign in the country”.
The biggest information problems that we've had with UAPs is the amount of stonewalling, stove piping, and also it seems that there is this push to gaslight the American people into looking at the evidence and then not fully believing it.
She also mentions that she can rely on the new head of the State Department, Marco Rubio, a former senator who has called for serious investigations into the issue of UAPs, and states:
We're hoping to present that information and at least acknowledge it from a government perspective, that we are not alone, but also let's see what the evidence is.
In response to a question on access to information, she reiterated that she had top secret accreditation and that she would be able to count on the support of the Chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Rep. Comer, to access SAPs, Special Access Programmes.
Regarding relations with whistleblowers, Rep. Luna stated that she still wanted to talk to them in order to filter out those who might want to influence the debate, and that she wanted to hear their testimony in public hearings.
She concluded the press conference by declaring :
This is about transparency. The government works for us. There have been people in power for too long that try to silo us and keep us in the dark. But that stops today. You're seeing that same message come out of the White House, out of the CIA, the FBI and every other agency in between.
The creation of this group, whose aim is to force the government to be more transparent and which is backed by the authority of the President of the Supervisory Committee of the Chamber of Deputies and the President of the Chamber of Deputies, undoubtedly represents a step forward in the political legitimisation of the issue of unidentified anomalous phenomena.
