An Irish engineer who has been studying UFOs for over 20 years claims that the phenomenon of metallic orbs constitutes a “global defense network”
In "Quantum Paranormal", Patrick Jackson presents a new hypothesis regarding groups of spheres flying in formation.
On May 21, 2023, NASA held its first-ever public hearing in Washington to discuss UFO sightings, or “unidentified aerial phenomena” (UAPs).
The four-hour meeting, which made headlines around the world, revealed details of metallic, orb-shaped UFOs “spotted all over the world”.
The First Director of the Pentagon's Anomaly Resolution Office (Aaro), Sean Kirkpatrick, admitted at the NASA hearing that these orbs had been observed performing “very interesting maneuvers”.
In a book published on October 2, 2020 and entitled Quantum Paranormal, Patrick Jackson claims that he may hold the key to the mystery, and that he has the support of former US Air Force pilots and computer specialists.
He offers an in-depth analysis of a three-tiered network of orbs that would seem to protect the Earth from intrusions by other UFOs.
This article explores his work, his claims and the implications of this network.
An alternative explanation for “paranormal” phenomena
Patrick Jackson, a computer database specialist, honed his skills trying to understand paranormal phenomena activity at a famous landmark, 30 East Drive, known to be haunted by “the UK's most aggressive poltergeist”.
In his opinion, the “poltergeist” (striking spirit) phenomena occurring in a “haunted” house such as 30 East Drive were produced by exotic technology of unknown origin. During his on-site experience, Patrick Jackson claims to have experienced effects related to radiation exposure, including general malaise and brain swelling. These symptoms were later confirmed to be consistent with radiation poisoning. In his view, this invalidates the spiritual or metaphysical hypothesis, as radiation exposure would not be possible in this context.
In his interviews, he declared:
I observed silver spheres flying around the house, drones the size of tennis balls, intelligently controlled.
Like marbles bouncing off the walls, sometimes touching my face.
The behavior patterns observed in the building were not human, but mechanical.
I saw these orbs everywhere - their behavior in flight was unusual. They were repeating the same patterns and processes.
It's still fascinating to watch. I have all these videos - today I understood how to trigger them and why the system works the way it does.
In his book Quantum Paranormal, Patrick Jackson describes the behavior of these objects in detail:
I observed a vertical black mass that moves around the house in a mechanical way. Its movement characteristics are unique because it neither accelerates nor decelerates. It moves according to a defined rhythm - stops short and changes direction. This means it moves without friction, resistance nor mass. It has also been observed that this black mass can pass through solid objects such as walls (source: Quantum Paranormal, p.149).
Similar phenomena were observed during a study at Karijini National Park, Pilbara, in Western Australia, by Dr. Andrew Morgan, who said: “If the Phenomenon can appear anywhere at any time, it must therefore pass through space in the non-visible part of the electromagnetic spectrum, as the human eye cannot observe it.”

Context and operation of the UFO Network on Earth, according to Patrick Jackson
A historical context
In his book, Patrick Jackson presents a historical context showing that some of the earliest documented orbs date back to the Second World War. As reported in the media of the time, these orbs, known as “foo-fighters”, were observed tracking and intercepting belligerent air forces, circling military aircraft, disrupting their navigation and communication instruments. Less well known, however, is the fact that these orbs also seemed to alter the laws of physics around the aircraft concerned.
What is repeated here is the reported ability to pass through solid objects. Oon occasion, crews have seen these objects pass through the aircraft's wings without causing any damage, nor suffering damage from the gunners' bullet fire. In addition, the spheres seem to have demonstrated an ability to produce electronic effects on the aircraft's instruments, causing engine failures or altering aircraft control.

The reported facts could demonstrate militarized technology in these areas. These same objects were are apparently at work in “haunted” places. This could explain the strange electronic and gravitational effects observed in these active locations (radios on, computer crashes...).
An alternative to paranormal phenomena
According to Patrick Jackson, the unknown designers of this UFO network seem aware that the high-intensity microwave transmissions emitted by these orbs are potentially harmful to humans. Patrick Jackson speculates that the system is designed to induce humans to move away from active orbs in order to minimize their exposure to such radiation. He refers to the inverse square law of radiation, which states that the intensity of radiation decreases in proportion to the square of the distance from the source. Doubling the distance from the radiation source reduces its intensity by a factor of four.
To encourage humans to move away from active orbs, the system, therefore seems to provoke phenomena perceived as paranormal, as a deterrent. These manifestations include strange noises, and objects being moved or projected into a house. These activities, often perceived as emanating from poltergeists, would serve to keep inhabitants away from the house, thus reducing their exposure to dangerous radiation.
By analogy, a magnet transported into the Middle Ages and demonstrated to a crowd would be likened to black magic.
Various strange phenomena: the Skinwalker Ranch case
Strange incidents suffered by the Gorman family, 1994-1996
The Gorman family's experience was transcribed in a book in the form of an account written in 2005 under the title “Hunt for the Skinwalker” by a biologist, Dr. Colm Kelleher (PhD), and a journalist, George Knapp, known for his investigations into UFOs.
The events experienced by the Gormans were studied discreetly and almost secretly for several years by a team from NIDS (“National Institute for Discovery Science”) under Dr. Kelleher's direction. This private organization was founded in 1995 by Las Vegas businessman Robert Bigelow, who was interested in UFOs and related phenomena. It was officially disbanded in 2004.
The purpose of the book is to discuss possible explanations for events on the Ranch, including “paranormal” theories, even esoteric ones. The Ranch and the Uintah Basin region of Utah are known for frequent sightings of UAP phenomena and, more broadly, supernatural phenomena.
Towards the end of 1994, the Gorman family: , Tom, Ellen and their children (pseudonyms), purchased the Skinwalker Ranch in Utah for the purpose of raising cattle, and moved in. When they arrived, the ranch had been unoccupied for several years. Surprisingly, it had heavy locks on every door and window.
After a few months, the family begins to notice luminous balls of various colors, white, yellow and blue, moving around the cattle and their house. They often observe bright blue “orbs” the size of baseballs, “filled with a swirling, electrically charged liquid”(p.142), which dim the lights as they pass near the house. They also observe strange clouds filled with “silently exploding lights”.
The occupants experience phenomena linked to poltergeists in the house: doors slam, objects disappear and move from one room to another. Some incidents resemble pranks (strange, mocking voices, misplaced groceries, etc.).
Another notable incident: in the summer of 1996, Tom saw his “three favorite watchdogs” chase a blue orb, “the size of a baseball”, into a nearby wood, Gorman heard them howling, then heard nothing more. Scared, he waited until morning to go and see them, only to find them burnt to a crisp. At this point, the Gorman family is so terrified that they decide to sell the Ranch. NIDS bought the property in August 1996 and decided to launch a scientific study. The Gorman family moved 40 km (25 miles) away, but Tom agreed to come and look after the ranch and herd every day, to help the NIDS team.
Strange events observed in the presence of the NIDS team
From late 1996 to the summer of 2004, the team led by Dr. Kelleher set up and operated a permanent laboratory, equipped with various devices, to collect data in the electromagnetic and magnetic domains, as well as on UFO-like luminous manifestations in the visible and ultraviolet spectrum.
Numerous phenomena were observed and analyzed, such as cattle mutilations in the region or apparitions of mysterious luminous spheres - or “orbs” - although these could never be clearly recorded.
Indeed, every time they tried to capture the phenomenon, it seemed to dodge the devices, as if playing a game of hide-and-seek. According to the researchers, some kind of invisible trickster always seemed to be “one step ahead”, leaving behind only sporadic clues: brutally mutilated calf carcasses, strange tracks in the snow, intriguing infrared images or unexplained breakdowns in surveillance equipment. However, no material evidence sufficient to be irrefutable has been collected.
Although the repetition of the observed phenomena reinforces their credibility, the authors have not provided any precise scientific data, such as photographs of the “orbs”. They indicate that recordings exist, but these have never been made public, making the investigation difficult to verify and highly confidential.
According to the team currently overseeing the property, in recent years the ranch's inhabitants have suffered regular illnesses, some requiring hospitalization. This phenomenon is reminiscent of Patrick Jackson's testimonies after his visit to 30 East Drive. Thomas Winterton, the ranch's current superintendent, was hospitalized for brain swelling caused by a build-up of fluid between his skull and scalp, which occurred after attempting to dig on the property.
How the UFO network works on Earth, according to Patrick Jackson
Based on historical cases and field observations, Patrick Jackson identifies three types of orbs:
Type three spheres: these measure approximately 2.86 to 2.94 inches in diameter and operate on the ground. They emit from inside buildings, protecting their electronic signature, and serve as an underlying communications network. Their activation takes place mainly when type 1 orbs detect a target and alert them. Once activated, type 3 orbs begin communicating with type 1 orbs via the “relay” sphere (type 2), resulting in the emission of radiation.
Type-two spheres: observed at around 300 feet above ground level and visible to the US Navy. They act as a “relay point” between type- 3 and type- 1 spheres.
Type one spheres: measuring around 20 inches in diameter, they appear in a triangular formation in the sky. They surround the target, intercepting and destroying it (see fig.8).
In 2023,a slide published by AARO on UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon) reporting trends from 1996 to 2023, provided precise details of these objects.
Their appearance is described as round, varying in size from one to four meters. The usual colors of the objects observed are white, silver or translucent.
The performance of these UAPs includes an altitude of between 10,000 and 30,000ft feet and a speed ranging from “stationary to Mach 2”.
No thermal traces of exhaust have ever been detected. The orbs have radio signatures, radar signatures and are visible through the infrared. Patrick Jackson claims to have specific details and evidence concerning these orbs (see p.14).

According to Patrick Jackson, the proposed action diagram illustrates the flow of communication and the specific roles assigned to each type of orb in the interception mechanism. Visual observations of type 1 orb formations corroborate this model, highlighting distinct groupings in the sky that correspond to the configurations described.

According to Patrick Jackson, this complex system is the result of a carefully thought-out design, reflecting advanced expertise in both terrestrial geography and defensive strategies. The distribution of networks, adjusted according to population density, seems to demonstrate a prioritization of human well-being while revealing possible vulnerabilities in sparsely populated areas.
According to this scheme, each location operates at a similar distance from the other, forming a “hard node”. This means that each sphere would be autonomous using the same artificial intelligence-based programming, each with the same behaviors and triggers, which would explain the similar naturecharacters of paranormal effects wherever they occur. This network would therefore be “active”, in other words, transmitting signals throughout the country.
According to Patrick Jackson, all these characteristics point to a global system, based on swarm intelligence.

The way in which the spheres are grouped in an interception network would thus be the result of a rule-based artificial intelligence, which seems to refer to a database that field observations are compared to. If the flight characteristics of the spheres match the recorded rules, a set of pre-programmed actions is then triggered.
In this context, Patrick Jackson has developed a mobile application entitled Ghost Code.
The app is said to have been designed by the author based on a code found in a crop circle in the UK.
According to Patrick Jackson, the app is capable of triggering a 'haunting-like’ activity produced by the spheres, through the use of personalized audio code to make contact with them, resulting in communication in the form of prolonged interaction. This is the kindtype of communication usually associated with ghost-hunting investigators, and is explained as a form of spiritual communication (pseudoscience).
Patrick Jackson puts forward several scientific hypotheses as to the technological means employed by these UAPs.
As a reminder, according to Patrick Jackson, these are the same types of objects observed flying around aircraft during the Second World War in 1945, which are now operating in buildings. Among the hypotheses:
The use of a “black mass”ou dark matter: this would enable them to conceal themselves in low-light environments, creating an adaptive camouflage allowing them to approach undetected. This ability to pass through solid surfaces would be illustrated by the notion of “quantum tunneling”

The use of EVPs: electronic voice phenomena are defined as recordings of unexplained voices or sounds captured on electronic devices, often interpreted as attempts at communication on the part of paranormal entities. Jackson proposes that these phenomena could be the result of electromagnetic interference or other complex technological interactions, rather than supernatural manifestations.
Patrick Jackson postulates that EVPs could be “residues” of advanced communication technology, either by :
Radio or microwave transmission: An unknown technology could be using frequencies that our electronic devices inadvertently pick up.
Data overlay: Modern recording devices could pick up fragments of information or transmission outside their intended frequencies, generating these auditory phenomena.
He also postulates that some EVPs could be intentional, a means of communication for advanced technological systems:
Sound programming: A signal or code embedded in an electromagnetic field could be converted into sound by recording devices.
Sound manipulation: An entity or technology, in this case orbs, could use tools to alter existing frequencies, creating audible messages.
Material evidence
According to Patrick Jackson, material evidence has been collected in the form of several orbs, one of which is currently being studied at Stanford University in the USA.
The Betz sphere is the most famous anomaly discovered in the 1970s.
In 1974, the Betz family, living in Fort George Island, Florida (USA), discovered a metallic sphere on their property after a forest fire. The sphere, about 20 cm in diameter and weighing around 10 kg, was made of stainless steel and appeared perfectly smooth, with no visible joints.
The family initially thought it was a military object, a work of art or even an extraterrestrial artifact.
According to the family, the sphere emitted vibrations, changed direction autonomously when rolled on the ground, and produced unusual sounds.
These properties attracted the attention of the media, scientists and even the US military.
Several analyses were carried out to understand the nature and origin of the sphere: it was found to be made of high-quality stainless steel, a material common in industry.
X-rays revealed that it contained a dense inner core, appearing to be in motion when rolled.
Finally, chemical analysis showed no trace of plutonium, despite the fact that the atomic number assigned to it corresponds to number 94 in the periodic table of elements.
This can be explained by the fact that most instruments are only designed to detect elements up to plutonium, with anything higher being specialized.
Consequently, its atomic number would not be 94, but higher.
Scientist James Albert Harder, a member of the group of scientists associated with the National Enquirer, was particularly intrigued by this sphere. He proposed to analyze it in depth using a variety of specialized equipment. On August 24, 1974, at the International Congress of Ufology in Chicago, Harder made a resounding announcement: he claimed that the small balls inside the sphere were composed of atoms larger and denser than anything known on Earth.
According to Harder, the sphere's inner balls would have an atomic number of 140, a level unknown in nature, suggesting extraordinary properties.
To put this in perspective, the heaviest element naturally found on Earth is uranium, with an atomic number of 92 (indicating that its nucleus contains 92 protons).
Most higher elements are created artificially, as in the case of plutonium, created in a reactor when uranium atoms absorb neutrons. Most often, then, the product of partial acceleration experiments is perhaps one or two atoms that last a few moments before disintegrating.
These single atoms are mainly used for scientific study and have little or no use in the real world, meaning it's difficult to make any practical use of them.
This would mean that today's science does not have the equipment needed to reproduce these spheres.
Yet many scientists have refuted the sensational claims, explaining that the behaviors observed could be due to a combination of gravity, friction and the properties of its inner core (gyroscopic effect).
This case has not been officially resolved.
Patrick Jackson presents a second case, that of a sphere held by a friend on a ranch in the state of Texas. The object is believed to have fallen into a field 40 or 60 years ago, before being recovered and resold.
The object's characteristics appear to be similar to those of the Betz family, including its ability to roll when placed on the ground.
So we have a unified theory, presented as a scientific and technical theory based on reality, which attempts to explain all “ghost” phenomena. On closer examination, several conclusions can be drawn:
This theory offers an attractive material and scientific explanation for all paranormal phenomena. To Patrick Jackson's credit, his methodical approach is based on operational and verifiable observations, analyzing clues to establish logical links, - a perspective particularly well-suited to the study of UFO phenomena, which are often random and difficult to frame.
Nevertheless, it absolutely requires the existence not only of exotic technology but also of laws of physics that do not exist in our current understanding of reality.
We are therefore waiting for indisputable scientific proof to validate this theory.
